New Lothrop Softball got swept in a early season double header against Lakeville trying to defend their 2 consecutive MMAC softball titles.  They lost 0-4 in the first game and 7-9 in the second.

Mallory Heroux started the game and took the loss.  She gave up 4 hits,4 runs walked 4 and stuck out 8.

The hornet only managed 2 hits on the day.  Marissa Rombach and Delaney Gross each had a hit.

2nd Game

New Lothrop was down 8-0 by the 2nd inning before battling back in a 7-9 loss.

Delaney Gross started the game and took the loss.  She went 1.2 innings giving up 7 hits 8 runs (only 2 earned) and 1 walk while striking out 5.  Mallory Heroux came in relief and pitched 4.1 innings gave up 3 hits 1 run 2 walks and striking out 1.

The hornets collected 11 hits in the game.  Marissa Rombach, Victoria Henige, Brynne Birchmeier, Ashlyn Orr all had 2 hits.  Sara Damman lead the team with 3 RBIs getting all 3 on a double in the 3rd with the bases loaded.  M. Heroux  singled to score Dammann making the 8-4 in the 3rd.  New lothrop would score 2 more in the 5th and 1 in the 6th before ending the comeback bid.
