JH Boys upset Swan Valley at Chesaning Invitational
CoEd Middle School Cross CountryThe JH Cross Country team traveled to Twin Brooks Golf Course for the Chesaning Invitational.Caleb Carlson set the pace for the Hornets placing 2nd overall with a impressive time of 11:30.38 with setting a new record. Lucas Demeter trailed behind with a 3rd place finish with a time of 11:51, and Thad Dumond in 4th place (12:05), rounding up the score was Ryder Andres (12:56), and Kellen Chamberlain (13:20). Also finishing in the top 30 for the Hornets was Brayden Hughes (13:42), and Tyler Keeler (14:01). Boys placed 1st overall and remain undefeated.Allison Demeter finished 7th overall with a time of 14:04.58, following her pace was Ari Olsen (15:15), Raegan Reinhardt (16:15), Mackenzie Thomas (16:23), Scarlett Ryan (16:46), Wren Wickerham (16.52), Gianna Sharpe (17:09), Kinzlie Barber (17:34). CoEd Middle School Cross CountryThe Hornet boys dominated the first league meet of the season with a score of 21 leaving with a another first place finish and the Lady hornets left with a 2nd place finish.Leading the Hornet boys and winning the race was Caleb Carlson with a time of 12:15.32. Respectable finishes also from Thad Dumond (12:27), Lucas Demeter (12:35), Kellen Chamberlain (13:45), Ryder Andres (14:01) who all placed in the top 10 for the meet. Setting the pace for the Lady Hornets was Allison Demeter placing 9th with a time of 15:32.61. Trailing behind her was Anna Olsen (15:44), Ari Olsen (15:44), Elaina Bruff (15:57), and Raegan Reinhardt (16:12). Hornets are traveling to Twin Brooks Golf course on Thursday for the Chesaning Invitational.

CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe NL varsity cross country team competed in their first MMAC jamboree meet this season. The NL girls team tied with Birch Run for second place. Leading the lady Hornets was Sydney Knieper in 3rd place with a time of 21:44. Also contributing to the team score was Ali Hunt (11th -23:27), Ava Wenzlick (14th -23:50), Laura Sharpe (21st – 26:24), and Miriam Sharpe (27th -27:22). The Hornets won all three sets by a score of 25-0.The team's offense was powered by 24 kills and 8 aces. Danielle Birchmeier led the charge with a standout performance, tallying 15 kills and 2 blocks. CoEd Middle School Cross CountryNew Lothrop traveled to Uncle John’s Cider Mill, Wednesday, September 3rd for the Marauder Invitational.It was apparent the Hornet boys were ready to run on Wednesday. Leading the Hornets was Caleb Carlson who placed 2nd overall with a time of 11:43.22. Impressive finishes also from Thad Dumond (4th) with a time of 11:56, Lucas Demeter (5th) 12:10, Ryder Andres (13:28), Kellen Chamberlain (13:40),Brayden Hughes (14:01) and Tyler Keeler (14:02). Girls Varsity SoftballMallory Heroux is only a Junior and has set 2 milestone New Lothrop softball records this year with career wins and strikeouts. The career wins for NL softball was 51 set back in 1979-82 seasons. The career strikeout record was 409 set in 87-90.Heroux is a 3 year varsity starter. As a Freshmen she we 13-10 with a 164 strikeouts, 91 hits and 1.551 ERA. Her sophomore year she went 20-5 with 184 strikeouts, 128 hits and ERA of 2.195. Currently for the NL varsity softball team, she is 20-5 with 216 strikeouts 92 hits and a 1.888 ERA.Her current career totals are 53 wins, and 564 strikeouts.
