The Hornets are 11-1 and 4-0 (MMAC) to start the season.  Hitting needs to improve but the pitching and defense has lead the way with eight players getting time on the hill.  Leading the way at the plate is Brady Birchmeier with three homeruns and Grayson Orr adding seven doubles with a homerun.  Cannan Cromwell has thrown well this year with three early wins and a near no hitter against Class B Fowlerville Thursday.  Fellow Senior Jordan Bellmer is on pace to test the stolen base record with twelve in as many games.  Your Hornets host Montrose Monday, Kearsley Wednesday, and Stanton Central Thursday.

The Hornets improved to (15-1, 6-0) with a non league sweep of Central Montcalm 10-0 and 11-2 Thursday.  Jordan Bellmer stole the show with six hits at the plate and a shutout on the mound.  Brady Birchmeier added his eighth home run of the season while Grayson Orr hit his second.  Your Hornets travel to Ovid Elsie for a league contest on Monday before traveling to Kearsley Tuesday, Caro Wednesday, and finishing with a home set against Frankenmuth.

Your Hornets defeated Ovid Elsie 16-3, and 17-4; Kearsley 7-5 and 9-2; then finished sweeping Caro 6-3 and 18-6.  Everyone contributed during this exhausting stretch of games and tomorrow will be a much needed day off.  The Hornets (21-1, 8-0) will host state power Frankenmuth on Friday.

Your Hornets defeated Byron 20-3 and 21-6 to set up Thursday top ten battle with Chesaning for the MMAC Championship.  Both teams are ranked in the top eight in division three with Chesaning (19-3-1, 10-0) and New Lothrop (24-1, 10-0)  both sporting unblemished league records. The game will be at 4:00 pm at Chesaning.

Cannan Cromwell and Jordan Belmer picked up wins on the mound, and Brady Birchmeier saved game one with two innings of relief as your Hornets defeated Hudson 5-2 and 8-4 on Friday.  The Hornets improved to 29-4 while Hudson fell to 26-7.  The boys have another tough stretch of games next week while they prepare for districts.

Your Hornets battled back from a seven run deficit with two innings to go to defeat Warren Mott 10-9 in game two on Tuesday night. New Lothrop won game one 7-2.  Jordan Belmer stole the show in game two with a game tying triple followed by stealing home for the walk off win.  Our boys finish the regular season tomorrow at Carson City.  The Hornets sit at (31-4) this season completing thirty wins for the eighth time in ten years. The other two season, they fell short by one game.

Your Hornets completed another fine season with a sweep of Carson City to finish at 33-4.  Brady Birchmeier upped his hr total to twelve with two home runs and inched closer to breaking the MHSAA career doubles record held by Drew He son with 68.  The boys face the toughest district in Division Three with Fourth ranked Hemlock in the semi finals.
