Lady Spikers Semi-Finalist at Birch Run Subway Slam

NL Varsity Volleyball participated in the 16 team Birch Run tournament on Saturday.

In pool play they beat Boyne City 25-16, 25-11, Tawas 25-15, 25-17 and Bendle 25-16, 25-6.

The Lady Hornets advanced to the Gold bracket as 1st seed and played Tawas in the quarterfinal game and won 25-9, 25-14. In the semi final game they lost against Class C 10th Ranked Centerville 19-25, 12-25. The Hornets finished 4-1 on the day.

Kailey Wendling had 74 Assists and served 31/36 from the serving line. Jaren Bishop had 38 Kills, 25 digs and was 38/39 from the serving line with 4 aces. She also recieved 38/39 from the floor. Alyssa Schnell was 34/36 from the floor serving with 11 aces, she had 47 digs and received 32/36 from the floor. Anna Johnson served 24/27 with 4 aces, had 23 digs and serve recieved 18/23 from the floor. Emma Muron has 14 digs and received 22/24 from the floor. Katie Bitterman had 31 kills. Olivia Moore chipped in 10 kills and 5 blocks while Delaynee Bitterman had 4 blocks and served 28/32 with 3 aces.

The Hornets overall record improves to 12-5-2. They travel to the Mt. Morris on Tuesday for a MMAC league match.
