The New Lothrop MS Cross Country team competed in their first league meet of the season on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Showboat Park in Chesaning. 

New Lothrops, Ava Wenzlick earned a 9th place finish overall with a time of 16:20 setting the pace for the Hornets. Respective efforts were followed by first year runner, Elaina Bruff (16:22), Ali Hunt (16:29), Mackenzie Thomas (17:47), Miriam Sharpe (17:52), Gabrielle Ryan (19:25), Ruey Neumann (19:41), Anna Lucius (20:06), and Riley Sovis (20:28).

Hornet boys finished 2nd overall in the League. Racing to the finish for the boys was Sawyer Black with a time of 14:21.05 and teammate Blake Hornak trailing right behind him at 14:21.38. Black and Hornak finished 6th and 7th overall for the Hornets. Impressive efforts also from Cayden Chamberlain (15:11), Blake Judd (15:37), Drew Moore (15:57), Ryder Andres (16:14), David Birchmeier (16:27), Bentley Loudenslager (16:30), Aiden Jacobs (16:47), Gus Wickerham (16:59), Anderson Alguire (17:34), Damian Poletti (19:32), Ronald Thomas (21:20), Brayden Hughes, Liam Gillett (21:54), and Grant Oginsky (25:02).
