New Lothrop MS ran at the Ovid Elsie Invitational at Uncle Johns Cider Mill on September 6, 2023. Hornet Girls and Boys both finished 5th in the small school divisions. 

Overcoming the hot conditions, the Hornet girls was led by Ava Wenzlick with a time of 16:32, with team mate Ali Hunt following with a time of 16:42 putting both runners in the top 30. Great efforts  and finishes also included Mackenzie Thomas (17:30), Miriam Sharpe (19:02), Riley Sovis (19:46), Elaina Bruff (20:09), Gabrielle Ryan (20:22), Ruey Neumann (21:03), and Anna Lucius (21:23).

Blake Hornak set the pace for New Lothrop with a time of 14:08, with Sawyer Black trailing in behind him at 14:18 also earning both a spot in the top 30. Respectable finishes for the Hornets were also David Birchmeier (15:55), Cayden Chamberlain (15:58), Ryder Andres (16:04), Aiden Jacobs (16:20), Drew Moore (16:54), Gus Wickerham (17:04), Anderson Alguire (18:35), Brayden Hughes (20:50), Ronald Thomas (20:55), Liam Gillett (21:04), Bentley Loudenslager (21:45), Damian Poletti (22:30), and Grant Oginsky (24:28).

Hornets will compete next at Cummings Center for the Genesee County CC Invitational on Saturday September 9, 2023.
