New Lothrop vs. Lakeville was postponed & moved to 5/9/23. 

Game 1 on May 9th. 

New Lothrop fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 17-1 loss to Lakeville on Tuesday. NL struggled to contain the high powered offense of Lakeville, giving up 17 runs in their 5 inning game. #1 from Lakeville led them to their victory in the pitcher's circle. She lasted the innings only allowing 2 hits and one run while striking out 9 and walking zero. Savannah took the loss for NL. She was able to strike out 3 of Lakevile's batters but ended up giving up 12 hits which resulted in costing 17 runs. Sophie went 2 for 2 at the plate to lead NL in hits which resulted in the Hornet's only run that game. 

Game 2 on May 9th at Lakeville

NL let the game slip away early and then couldn't recover in an 18-7 loss on Tuesday. NL collected 3 hits and Lakeville had 8 in the high-scoring affair. NL attempted to rally in the 5th inning by scoring 6 runs. Walks lead by Elizabeth and Makenna started the inning to follow with a single by Jayde, by Rory, and a fielder's choice by Mikalah. Ultimately Lakeville brought their starter back in putting a holt to the Hornet's rally party. Jayde toed the rubber allowing 8 hits that resulted in 18 runs for Lakeville. Makenna, Jayde, & Savannah each collected one hit each to lead NL. 

Although this Tuesday was a rough one for New Lothrop, they're back to practice & are preparing to take on Chesaning at Chesaning Middle School to redeem themselves on Friday.
