Game 1: New Lothrop shuts Durand out in a victory 15-0. 

Evy got things rolling first at bat with a single to right field and advancing right away on an error to the 1st baseman. Great patience was displayed by NL walking to get on and advancing on pass balls. Savannah came out hot facing only 8 batters over 2 innings, striking out 6 of them, and not giving up a single walk. Mikalah ended the game early in the 3rd inning coming in for relief strong, having 2 strike outs and only allowing one hit. Their stud catcher for the game Makenna, allowed no advances on pass balls, and no steals. NL laid in on tough with hits from Evy, Savannah, Jayde, and Audrey. Jayde led the team in RBIs. 

Game 2: New Lothrop overcomes Durand in face of 3-run inning

Durand scored 3 runs in the 4th inning, but NL still won 20-5 on Wednesday. NL got things started in the first inning with Mikalah drawing a walk, scoring one run. NL kept the party going to get out of every inning early gaining 5 runs each inning. The offensive onslaught by NL was led by Brooklyn, Ali, Rory, and Gabby who each had RBIs. Mikalah was the winning pitcher for NL. She surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two innings with a steller defense behind her. Jayde threw 2 innings in relief out of the bullpen. Gabby went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead NL in hits for the game. NL tore up the base paths, as 5 players stole at least two bases each. Makenna led the way with 4 stolen bases. 

All in all the Hornets walked away with 2 wins today. Great execution by some of their newer players. They will face off Durand's 8th grade team Friday at home at 5pm.
