New Lothrop Varsity Hornets lost the lead late in a 4-3 defeat to Bad Axe on Saturday. The game was tied at two with New Lothrop Varsity Hornets batting in the top of the seventh when Caleb Sharp grounded out, scoring one run.

Bad Axe got on the board in the first inning. Bad Axe scored one run when Cal Eisinger singled.

Eisinger got the start for Bad Axe. The pitcher went three innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out one.

Alex Henige led things off on the hill for New Lothrop Varsity Hornets. The pitcher lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out one. Ty Olsen threw four and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

New Lothrop Varsity Hornets coasted to an easy victory over Carrollton Varsity Cavaliers 11-3 on Saturday

New Lothrop Varsity Hornets put up four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by New Lothrop Varsity Hornets was led by Bryce Kuchar, Leo Bauman, Ty Olsen, and Joseph Torres, all driving in runs in the inning.

August Birkmeier earned the victory on the hill for New Lothrop Varsity Hornets. Birkmeier allowed five hits and three runs over six innings, striking out six.

Ethan Hebl toed the rubber for Carrollton Varsity Cavaliers. The righthander went seven innings, allowing 11 runs on 14 hits and striking out six.

New Lothrop Varsity Hornets racked up 14 hits. Brandon Lyons, Jayden Martinez, Torres, and Birkmeier all had multiple hits for New Lothrop Varsity Hornets. Lyons went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead New Lothrop Varsity Hornets in hits. Martinez led New Lothrop Varsity Hornets with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.

Hebl led Carrollton Varsity Cavaliers with two hits in two at bats.
