The NL varsity cross country team competed in their first conference meet this season. The NL girls finished 2^nd at the first jamboree hosted by Chesaning. Leading the girls’ team was Klara Mulcahy in 7^th place with a time of 23:37. Also contributing to the team score was Sara Dammann (8^th -23:48), Lexy Andres (9^th -24:28), Josie Bauman (10^th – 25:03), and Olivia Gillett (12^th -25:24). Also competing for the girls’ team was Laura Sharpe (26:07), Emmie Hebekeuser (26:25), Maya Sovis (26:54), Savanna Craven (28:30), Makenna Gemalsky (28:34), Izabella Martinez, and Audrey Turnwald (34:11).

The NL boys team placed 3^rd in the league. Kevin Heslip led the boys placing 11^th with a time of 20:03. Also contributing to the boys’ team score was Ty Sweers (15^th-20:20), Marshall Kruske (16^th – 20:22), Jasper Andres (18^th- 20:44), and Sean Dammann (19^th- 21:12). Also competing for the boys’ team was Connor Masterson (21:26), Noah Gillett (21:30), Westin Sweers (22:30), Alex Hughes (23:16), Tim Schmier (25:24), and Frederick Ziola (26:49).

The cross country team will compete next at the Chesaning Invitational at Showboat Park on September 14^th.
