The NL varsity cross country team competed in the small school division at the Genesee Cross Country Invitational hosted by Genesee on September 9^th, 2023. The NL girls finished 2^nd in their division. Leading the girls’ team was Lexy Andres in 6^th place with a time of 23:21. Also contributing to the team score was Sara Dammann (7^th -23:29), Klara Mulcahy (8^th -23:29), Olivia Gillett (10^th – 24:06), and Laura Sharpe (14^th -25:54). Also competing for the girls’ team was Maya Sovis (27:47), Makenna Gemalsky (28:37), Izabella Martinez (31:19), Elizabeth Herbert (32:57), and Audrey Turnwald (37:20).

The NL boys team won the small school division. Kevin Heslip led the boys placing 3^rd  with a time of 19:24. Also contributing to the boys’ team score was Ty Sweers (7^th-20:31), Sean Dammann (8^th- 20:33), Marshall Kruske (10^th – 20:52),Connor Masterson (11^th- 21:01). Also competing for the boys’ team was Colt Wolford (21:07), Noah Gillett (22:49), Jasper Andres (22:50), Westin Sweers (23:02), Alex Hughes (23:31), Tim Schmier (25:06), and Frederick Ziola (28:03).

The cross country team will compete next at MMAC Jamboree #1 hosted by Chesaning on September 12^th.
