The NL varsity cross country team competed in the small school division at the Marauder Invitational hosted by Ovid-Elsie on September 6, 2023. The NL girls finished 5^th in their division. Leading the girls’ team was Sara Dammann finishing 25th with a time of 24:00. Also contributing to the team score was Klara Mulcahy (38th- 25:58), Lexy Andres (39^th- 26:02), Olivia Gillett (43rd- 26:20), and Laura Sharpe (50th- 28:00). Also competing for the girls’ team was Emmie Hebekeuser (28:16), Savanna Craven (29:37), Maya Sovis (30:13), Makenna Gemalsky (30:43), Elizabeth Herbert (35:24), Audrey Turnwald (35:54) and Elif Arikan (38:40).

The NL boys team finished 5^th in the small school division. Kevin Heslip led the boys placing 32nd with a time of 20:31. Also contributing to the boys’ team score was Colt Wolford (34^th- 20:38), Marshall Kruske (41^st - 21:03), Ty Sweers (46^th- 21:19), and Sean Dammann (48^th- 21:53). Also competing for the boys’ team was Noah Gillett (22:13), Jasper Andres (23:34), Connor Masterson (23:35), Alex Hughes (23:39), Westin Sweers (24:55), Tim Schmier (29:56), and Frederick Ziola (31:37).

The cross country team will compete next at the Genesee Cross Country Invitational at the Cummings Center on September 9th.
