New Lothrop won their 3rd straight district title on Saturday at Montrose by defeating Durand 16-1 and Montrose in the finals 3-0.

Delaney Gross drove in 5 runs against Durand to propel the Hornets to victory.  She had a RBI single in the first, a solo home run in the 3rd and a 3 run home run in the 5th.

New lLthrop score in every inning but the 4th on route to a 5 inning mercy.  They scored 4 runs in the first thanks to double by Marissa Rombach and Brynne Birchmeier and a singles by Mallory Heroux and Gross,  The hornets scored one in the 2nd thanks to a single by Sara Dammann who then stole 2nd and scored on a B. birchmeier single...  NL scored 5 more time in the 3rd inning thanks to Home runs by Ashland Orr and Gross.  Dammann and rombach also had RBI hits in the inning.  New Lothrop cleared the bench in the last 2 innings and the subs did not disappoint.  In the top of the 5th Lexi Birchmeier lead off with being hit by a pitch, followed by a single by Rombach, walk by Maddie Schneider and double by Alexandria Knieper, single by Kayla Brunner and then a 3 run shot by Gross.

All 3 of NL pitchers go in the game.  Mallory Heroux started went 2 innings gave up 1 hit 1 walk and struck out 4.  Gross threw one inning giving up 0 hits walking 1 and striking out 3.  Brianna Heroux finished out the game throwing 2 inning giving up 1 unearned run walking 1 and striking out 4.

NL had 15 hits in the game.  Rombach, Gross, Dammann and B. Birchmeier all collected multiple hits for the hornets.  Gross had 5 RBIs, Rombach had 4 RBIs, and 2 RBIs a piece by B Birchmeier and Alexandria Knieper

In the finals, New Lothrop defeated Montrose 3-0 thanks to some timely hitting and a magnificent pitch game by Mallory Heroux.  Heroux only gave up 3 hits on the day walking 2 and striking out 9

It was a 0-0 ball game until the top of the 3rd when Rombach received a walk and then stole 2nd and 3rd with Victoria Henige up to bat.  Henige had a 2 out infield single to score Rombach.

The score remained 1-0 until the bottom of the 6th when Henige lead off with a double.  Orr had a sacrifice bunt to move courtesy runner Lexi Birchmeier to 3rd.  M. Heroux hit a bloop single over 2nd base to score Birchmeier.   Freshman Maddie Schneider was brought in to courtesy run for Heroux.  Schneider then stole 2nd and 3rd on back to back pitches.  One batter later she scored on a passed ball to end the scoring.  

New Lothrop only managed 5 hits lead by Henige who went 2-2 with and RBI and a walk.  Dammann, B. Birchmeier and M. Heroux collected the other hits. 

New Lothrop moves on to regionals on Saturday the 10th at New Lothrop.  They will face LakeVille at noon and the winner of that game will play the winner of Laingsburg and Leslie at 2PM
