NL couldn't get much going offensively in the first game falling 1-0 to visiting Lansing Waverly.  

Mallory Heroux got the start went 3 inning giving up 2 hits 0 runs 2 walks and striking out 5.  Delaney Gross and Brianna Heroux entered the game in relief.  Gross threw 3.1 innings giving up 2 hits 0 runs and struck out 4.  Brianna Heroux pitch 2/3 of an inning and took the loss.  She gave up 1 run on 2 hits and 2 walks.

New Lothrop could only manage 4 hits in the opener.  Victoria Henige went 2-3 and Brynne Birchmeier and Mallory Heroux each had a hit.

The nitecap Sara Dammann had a 5 hit day to lead the hornets past Waverly 7-1.  Damman had a single in the 1st, single in 3rd, double in the 4th, single int he 6th and single in the 7th..

Brianna Heroux got the start and the win.  She went 3.2 innings giving up 4 hits 1 run and struck out 3.  Gross and M. Heroux came in relief in the game.  Gross threw 1.1 innings giving up 0 hits, 0 runs and struck out 2.  M. Heroux threw 2 inning giving up 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 walk and struck out 2.

NL got the bats going in the first inning scoring 1 run.  Dammann singled and Henige walked to allow Ashland Orr single to score Dammann.  Waverly tied it up in the bottom of the first.  The hornets scored 3 in the 3rd to pull ahead for good.  Dammann, Rombach, Henige and M.Heroux all had hits in the inning.  The score remained 4-1 until top of 5th.  Lexi Birchmeier lead off with a walk and Dammann followed with a single.  Lexi Birchemeier scored when Waverly could not field a fly ball off the bat of Brynne Birchmeier.  NL closed out the scoring by scoring 2 in the 7th.  B. Heroux lead off with a single, Gross reached on an error and advanced to 2nd on the same error.  Dammann collected her 5th hit of the day driving in both Gross and Heroux with 2 outs in the 7th.

Dammann went 5-5 with 3 RBIs and scored 2 runs, Orr also had 2 hits.

NL improves to 23-13 on the year.
