The New Lothrop Varsity Softball team earned a MHSAA Regional Championship for the first time since 1997 by defeating Cass City 3-2.  New Lothrop hosted Districts and on its way to earning its 4th consecutive District Championship, they dispatched Montrose (10-1) and Perry (12-0 in 6 innings).  At the Regional tournament hosted by Chesaning, New Lothrop opened with conference rival LakeVille, who had beaten them twice in the regular season and defeated the Falcons 7-4 for the regional semifinal win.  The Hawks of Cass City were their opponent for the Regional Championship game and won a thriller for their first Regional Championship in nearly three decades.

The Hornets played the Pioneers of Clare and were defeated in the MHSAA Quarterfinals.
