The New Lothrop Softball Team earn the top Academic in Division 3 through the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association (MHSSCA) for the 2024 spring season with a 3.9.381 GPA and bested all other top Division winners - making them the Top GPA in All Divisions for 2024.Go Hornets!

The New Lothrop Varsity Softball team earned a MHSAA Regional Championship for the first time since 1997 by defeating Cass City 3-2. New Lothrop hosted Districts and on its way to earning its 4th consecutive District Championship, they dispatched Montrose (10-1) and Perry (12-0 in 6 innings). At the Regional tournament hosted by Chesaning, New Lothrop opened with conference rival LakeVille, who had beaten them twice in the regular season and defeated the Falcons 7-4 for the regional semifinal win. The Hawks of Cass City were their opponent for the Regional Championship game and won a thriller for their first Regional Championship in nearly three decades.The Hornets played the Pioneers of Clare and were defeated in the MHSAA Quarterfinals.

The New Lothrop Varsity Baseball team earned District and Regional Championship before falling in the MHSAA Division 3 Quarterfinals to Detroit Edison. The Hornets secured a District Championship by defeating Chesaning (6-1), LakeVille (4-2), and Millington (11-7). In the Regional Semifinals hosted by New Lothrop, the Hornets knocked off conference foe Mt. Morris 12-2 in 6 innings, then went to Millington to face the heavily favored Hemlock Huskies for a chance to win a Regional title, it's first since 2021. The Hornets outlasted the Huskies 2-0 on a stellar game by Alex Henige, where he drove in both runs and pitched all 7 innings for the win!Congratulations Hornets!

Girls Varsity VolleyballThe New Lothrop Hornet volleyball team saw their season come to a bittersweet end in the district championship match Thursday night, falling to Millington in a thrilling four-set contest. The Cardinals claimed the district title with scores of 31-29, 25-12, 19-25, and 25-21. The Hornets showed grit and determination throughout the match, highlighted by standout performances from several players. Senior outside hitter Ashlyn Orr led the charge with a dominant 15 kills, 17 digs, and one ace. Orr's ability to find gaps in Millington's defense kept New Lothrop competitive in the back-and-forth battle. In the first round, the Hornets defeated the Chesaning Indians in straight sets, 25-12, 25-14, 25-10. Cassie Green led the offensive charge with 9 kills and 2 aces, while Remington Knieper delivered an all-around performance with 5 aces, 6 kills, and a block.
