New Lothrop Softball finishes 26-9 on the regular season w/ 2 wins over Vassar.  The softball team will play districts in Durand on 6/1 at 12:00 against Durand.  Winner to play Byron in the district finals.

New Lothrop Hornets  Victorious Vassar Thanks To Third Inning Boost

Six runs in the third inning led New Lothrop Hornets  past Vassar 10-3 on Tuesday. New Lothrop Hornets  offense in the inning was led by Julia Martin, Charleigh Birchmeier, Jersey Hemgesberg, Isabel Henige, Alyssa Schnell, and Samantha Birchmeier, who all drove in runs.

Hemgesberg took the win for New Lothrop Hornets Varsity. She lasted four innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out five. Birchmeier threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

New Lothrop Hornets  had ten hits in the game. Hemgesberg, Martin, and Birchmeiereach racked up multiple hits for New Lothrop Hornets . Birchmeier, Martin, and Hemgesberg each collected two hits to lead New Lothrop Hornets . New Lothrop Hornets  didn't commit a single error in the field. Henige had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

The Second game against Vassar

New Lothrop claimed a 9-6 victory on Tuesday

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. New Lothrop Hornets  collected nine hits and Vassar had seven.

New Lothrop Hornets  got on the board in the first inning. Jersey Hemgesberg drove in one when she singled.

Samantha Birchmeier was the winning pitcher for New Lothrop Hornets . She went four and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out one and walking zero. Paige Bishop threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

New Lothrop Hornets smacked one home run on the day. Julia Martin had a homer in the fourth inning.

New Lothrop Hornets  racked up nine hits on the day. Martin and Hemgesberg each collected multiple hits for New Lothrop Hornets . Martin went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead New Lothrop Hornets  in hits.
