Colton Symons was recently selected as Kiwanis Club February Athlete of the Month and was honored by the Flint Kiwanis Club at their monthly meeting at The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan's Hunger Solution Center in Flint on February  in front of her parents, her coach, and athletic director.

Colton was presented with a plaque, his wrestling coaches be her father, spoke about Colton and his accomplishments on the mat and off.  Colton will be in the running for the Kiwanis Athlete of the Year Award and a $2,000 scholarship in Grand Blanc at the Kiwanis Athlete of the Year Awards Ceremony /Luncheon on May 14 ,2024.

Over the course of his athletic career in football and wrestling, Colton has been:

• 3x MMAC All Conference (2021, 2022, 2023)

  • 2023 Unanimous selection as 1st Team

• 2023 MHSFCA 1st Team Academic All-State (1 of 2 students in all of Div 8 to be selected)

• 2023 AP All-State 1st Team (Defensive Lineman)

• Team Captain

• School Record Holder - Tackles for Loss in a Season

Wrestling

• 4x Team Captain

• 3x Conference Champion (2022, 2023, 2024)

• 2023 Academic All-State

• 2023 MHSAA District Champion 175lbs

• 2024 MHSAA District Champion 190lbs

• 2024 MHSAA Regional Champion 190lbs

• 2023 MHSAA All-State 175lbs - 5th place

• 3x State Finals Team Appearance

He is currently ranked fifth in his class with a 4.085 GPA, while scoring a 1300 on the SAT.  Colton is a member of the National Honor Society and local 4H Chapter President.  After high school, he plans to attend the University of Michigan and pursue a career in nursing hoping to secure a job at the children's hospital in Ann Arbor when he graduates.
